ONE GREAT HOUR OF SHARING - MARCH 23, 2008
ONE GREAT HOUR OF SHARING – SUNDAY MARCH 23
When you ask someone about the miracles of Jesus, probably the one most people think of first is the feeding of the multitude, "the miracle of the loaves and fishes." The story offers us simple but powerful truth: When we offer what we have, God uses our gifts in ways far beyond what we could have imagined. This is a message that resounds particularly in One Great Hour of Sharing. A small change in our lifestyle can mean a gift that when multiplied by millions of other givers can enable transformations that none of us could have predicted.
Since 1949, Presbyterians have joined with millions of other Christians through OGHS to share God's love with people experiencing need. Our gifts support ministries of disaster response, refugee assistance and resettlement, and community development that help people find safe refuge, start new lives and work together to strengthen their families and communities.
Recognizing that the hope we have in Christ in lived out in hope for one another, we respond with gifts that help our sisters and brothers around the world find the hope for a brighter future. That is what One Great Hour of Sharing can do. Will you and your family please pray for and offer your gifts to this ministry?
