December 2022

Did you know that we use a different bell for every “Chiming of the Trinity”? The correct bell is chosen to match the key signature of the prelude. That is the meticulousness that we strive to put into every Sunday worship service.

You are probably being just as meticulous in your preparations for Christmas. You’re making shopping lists, purchasing gifts, decorating the house, and getting everything in the right place. You’re making your travel plans, meal plans, worship plans, and honoring other traditions. Every Christmas is an event with lots of planning and preparation.

This Advent and Christmas season, I hope that you are able to enjoy the fruits of your labor. I hope that you can take a moment in the midst of the  celebrations to bask in the glow of family brought together, hard work paid off, and planning coming to fruition.

At the end of every wedding that I officiate, I ask the couple to stand and take in the sight of the family and friends who have gathered for this special occasion. I pray that you are able to pause, reflect, and take in the sights, sounds, smells, and wonder of Christmas.

God bless you all as you make your preparations, live into the moment, and create memories to cherish for a lifetime.

With love and gratitude,

Matt
